A good quality line of well bred Angus first calf heifers & calves. The heifers are displaying good medium frames & are presenting mostly in store condition, having come through a harsh, dry winter at Yass, allowing for a good opportunity to add considerable weight & value quickly, on better quality feed. Heifers have shown good weight gains since purchase & are currently midway through cleaning up in the coat, & well on the way forward. Heifers are displaying good maternal instincts, maintaining a fresh calf, despite limited paddock feed & supplementary feeding. 1 extra calf in the mob is assumed to be a twin, as all calves are displaying good freshness, however vendor has been unable to link it to a specific cow. 5 heifers & 3 calves presented with pink-eye infection at assessment & were treated with Orbenin cream, & will be re-treated prior to delivery. Heifers continue to show resilience demonstrating good constitutions in the face of various adversities due to dry, dusty weather.
